Make your billable time unforgettable

An offline time tracker for freelancers and consultants who invoice hours. Kronolog captures screenshots on your schedule so you can log billable time after the fact — privately, with no cloud.

Available for macOS. Support for Windows and Linux is in development.

How screenshot-based time tracking works

Step 1

Capture on your schedule

Kronolog takes screenshots only when you want. Set up your unique schedule via a cron expression.

Step 2

Review later

When you sit down to log time, walk back through the day instead of reconstructing it from memory or a forgotten timer.

Step 3

Log and export

Label the productive blocks, then export the hours for invoices, reports, or your own records.

Why people love Kronolog

Stop guessing

If you invoice hours, a visual log beats a live timer you forgot to start. See what you actually worked on, then fill the timesheet.

Fully offline, always private

No account, no cloud, no telemetry. After a one-time activation, Kronolog runs fully offline. Your frames never leave your device.

Insightful, exportable data

Quick insights on your billable time, plus exports you can drop into invoices or further analysis.

Not another time tracker

Regular time tracking software watches the clock while you work. Kronolog helps you remember the work when you sit down to invoice.

Questions before you buy

Do the screenshots leave my computer?+
No. Kronolog stores frames on disk. There is no account and no cloud sync. The app only goes online for the one-time license activation and whenever you choose to check for updates.
Why is Kronolog not on the Apple Store?+
We prefer the convenience of a direct download. The app has however been notarized by Apple and is safe to download.
What happens after I pay?+
We email your license key. Download the macOS app and enter the key on first launch. After that, Kronolog works offline.
What does a license cover?+
One device, currently macOS. The license is non-transferable. All future updates for that license are included, and we will not move Kronolog to a subscription.
How do I get updates?+
In the app, choose Check for Updates from the menu. Updates are included with your license—there is no subscription. You can also download the latest installer from the website anytime.
Can I get a refund?+
You can request a refund within 14 days if you have not activated your license yet. After activation, the sale is final. If something does not work, email support and we will help.
What formats can I export?+
You can export your time logs as CSV, Excel (.xlsx), or JSON.
When can I download Kronolog for Windows or Linux?+
Those builds are not ready yet. They are in development and scheduled for release in early 2027. A macOS license will not cover a later Windows or Linux install; each platform needs its own license.
